Away win for Henley Hawks at Worthing

HENLEY HAWKS made it back-to-back wins last Saturday as they picked up their first National Division 1 away win of the season at Worthing

HENLEY HAWKS made it back-to-back wins last Saturday as they picked up their first National Division 1 away win of the season at Worthing.

The match between the two sides that were both promoted from National Division 2 South last season turned into a pulsating and dramatic affair as Henley secured a bonus point victory.

With just 10 minutes remaining on the clock it seemed as if the visitors were going to take the spoils easily as at this point they lead the home side 32-8. However, the home side, as in previous years, finished strongly and nearly turned the tables in spectacular fashion with three tries inside six minutes. However, Henley?s resilience shone through and they held out for a dramatic 32-27 win.

The Hawks tries came courtesy of Bart, McNally and a brace for Comben, who also scored kicked conversions and two penalties.

On Saturday Henley Hawks return to Dry Leas when they entertain Fylde.
