THE Henley Hawks U8s squad were coached on Sunday by the club’s first team players Connor Corrigan and Adam Lubbock and Charlie McEwen, sales and marketing director for the British and Irish Lions.

The trio assisted with drills and fitness work and each coached teams through practice matches, awarding player of the day certificates to Zac White, Ben Knight, Rory Pearson and Beatrice Fraser. Will Corbett and Tom Smith picked up special Lions badges for impressing in training.

Henley U8s head coach George Winters said: “We were enormously grateful for all three of them giving up their precious Sunday morning to come and help us out.

“The first team players are a huge inspiration for all the children and they made it an enjoyable training session for all of us. We hope to repay the favour by cheering them on as they continue to push for promotion back into National League 1.”

The Hawks U8s squad has enjoyed a strong start to the season, remaining undefeated at the Beaconsfield tournament, winning the B section and finishing runners-up in the A section.
