Hawks U14 win Oxfordshire Plate Cup

HENLEY HAWKS U14s won their Oxfordshire Plate Cup Final on Sunday beating Witney 27-5

HENLEY HAWKS U14s won their Oxfordshire Plate Cup Final on Sunday beating Witney 27-5.

Their tackling was of the highest standard and when required the team defended with determination never wanting to give up ground.

In attack the forwards applied continual pressure to their opponents and were able to turn over the loose ball and take a number of scrums and line-outs against the head.

Rufus Larkin and Oscar James scored a try each which was just reward for the hard work and commitment all the forwards put in to the game.

The backs were able to capitalise on the space the pitch afforded and the excellent ball provided by the forwards from the set pieces.

Good handling and outright speed led to a further three tries. There was one each for Charles Tchen, JJ Acton and Michael Williams who was also successful with a conversion.

Overall it was a great team effort resulting in good attacking rugby which was wonderful to watch. A well-deserved victory and a shield and medals for the trophy cabinet.
