Hawks win at maiden tournament

HENLEY HAWKS U9s triumphed in their first ever tour as they won the Great Yarmouth Rugby

HENLEY HAWKS U9s triumphed in their first ever tour as they won the Great Yarmouth Rugby Festival.

The Hawks entered two teams, the Apaches and Braves into the group phases, the format requiring each team to play nine matches over two days.

The Apaches won all nine group matches averaging more than four tries per match and conceding just four.

The side progressed to meet Olney Cobras in the tournament final in what was a tight game dominated by solid defences which finished 2-2. After a tense count-back, Henley took the title based on their dominating performance during the group phase.

The Braves managed three wins and a draw.
