HENLEY Hawks U9s enjoyed further success on Sunday with their development team being crowned champions of the Amersham and Chiltern Development U9 tournament.
The winning team of Batty Bourban, Sam Carter, Jaiden Cooper, Jamie Halliwell, Finn Hawkes, Jonny Noctor, Conor Quinn and Arthur Schrier played some good rugby combining robust defence with free flowing attacks scoring 25 tries in the process to register pool wins against Amersham and Chiltern 1sts, Old Albanians and Marlow and a draw with Beaconsfield. These results saw Henley top their pool and progress to the final.
In the final against Amersham and Chiltern 2nds a close encounter ensued with Amersham scoring with the passage of play to draw the match 4-4. The trophy was shared between the two teams. The player-of-the-tournament award for the Hawks went to Finn Hawkes who scored 14 tries on the day.
