End of season awards ceremony celebrates minis’ five-star campaign

THE Henley Hawks U9s held their end of season awards ceremony last Sunday at Dry Leas

THE Henley Hawks U9s held their end of season awards ceremony last Sunday at Dry Leas with no less than 11 trophies and 40 certificates being given out.

During the season the squad secured five tournament trophies in a mixture of A, B and development categories with all members of the squad playing their part in these victories.

Every player received a certificate and trophies won at tournaments throughout the season were shared out amongst the squad. In addition, Jonny Noctor and Finn Hawks won the best newcomer and most improved player of the season awards respectively. Tom Yeoman and Zac White shared the best tackler trophy, Ben Horner won the players’ player award and Sam Winters was named player of the season. Coach Dave Edwards, who is departing to help out with the RAF Reserves, was given an engraved tankard in thanks for all his support, coaching and refereeing over the last four seasons. The squad end their season in two weeks’ time when more than 50 players and parents travel to the Isle of Wight to take part in the Vectis Rugby Festival.
