SIX Abbey Nuns players helped Berkshire secure a semi-final place in the inaugural County Cup last Saturday.

Berkshire defeated North Midlands 34-10 at Five Ways Old Edwardians ground in Hopwood, Birmingham, to secure their spot in the last four.

The score was 17-10 at half-time with Abbey’s Hollie King and Annette Tomas scoring tries.

King scored her second try of the match in the second half while Nuns teammate Alice Denton also got her name on the score sheet. Abbey’s scrum-half Ellie Rice received the back of the match award.

The semi-final will be played at Maidenhead on Sunday (kick-off 2pm) where Berkshire will face Surrey. The winner goes on to the final to be played at The Stoop the following weekend.
