A MAN suffered serious leg injuries and a suspected spinal injury after he was trapped under a tree at a school.
The 23-year-old contractor was carrying maintenance work at Chiltern Edge School in Reades Lane, Sonning Common, when the accident happened.
Firefighters called to the scene used hydraulic rescue equipment to lift the tree off him.
The man was taken to the major trauma unit at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by the Thames Valley air ambulance.
The incident happened shortly before 12.30pm on Tuesday last week during half term.
The contractor was working on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council.
