Millie’s Dream donates 11th defibrillator

A NEW life-saving defibrillator has been installed at Sonning Common Primary School thanks to the Millie’s Dream appeal.

The device is in a lock box on a wall outside the school library, so it is accessible to both staff and the community outside school hours.

It is the 11th defibrillator to be supplied for use by the wider community since it was launched by Sarah Roberts, of King’s Road, Henley, in September 2013.

The appeal, which is named after Miss Roberts’ seven-year-old daughter Millie, who has a heart and lung condition, originally aimed to raise £15,000 to equip 10 local schools with a defibrillator. It has now raised more than £25,000 and is supplying the machines to more schools as well as communities.

Miss Roberts said: “This is where the growth of the charity has to go. We have to put the defibrillators outside buildings so the whole the community can benefit in the event of cardiac arrest.
