Parking crackdown

RESIDENTS of Sonning Common are being consulted about plans to introduce parking restrictions outside the village primary school.

Oxfordshire County Council, the highways authority, wants people’s views on having single yellow lines on that section of Grove Road.

It is also proposed to have double yellow lines to cover the junction with Lea Road.

The measures are designed to ease congestion and improve road safety when the schoolchildren are being dropped off and collected.

Residents have complained about their drives being blocked by parents’ cars.

Sonning Common Parish Council has agreed to fund the work, which would cost about £4,000.

All responses must be in by December 2. To comment, visit
