A CHRISTMAS fair held at Sonning Common Primary School raised more than £4,000, writes Connor McLoughlin.
The money will be used for new equipment and workshops for children at the Grove Road school.
The fair featured a craft room, cake sales, a tombola, raffle and Santa’s grotto.
About 1,000 people attended.
Wendy Perry, chairwoman of the school’s parents’ association, said: “It was really great day. Everyone had a good time and there was a lovely atmosphere as well as some great weather, which helped us.
“We raised a bit more than we normally do. The hall felt busy but we had rearranged our layout so people could move more easily.”
Mrs Perry, who lives in Sedgewell Road and has two children at the school, added: “The money could go towards any big projects the school has, the outdoor space, equipment, new books or playground games.”
