Maddy and Patch claim first win

THE annual open indoor showjumping competition, run by South Oxfordshire Hunt (South) Pony Club, was held at Berkshire College of Agriculture earlier this month and competed for by 125 entrants across the six classes.

SOHS members did well in all six classes but of particular note was Class 1 (beginners under 12). This was won by new member Maddy McTeague on her pony Patch. Maddy, an 11-year-old pupil at Gillotts School, has had Patch for six months, and this was her first ever win. She was awarded the Challenge Cup for the highest placed pony club member.

The winners of the other classes were as follows: Class 2, Louis Heard on Jack the Nipper (SOHS); class 3a, Helena Murray on IIyer; class 3b, Sophie Rothbarth on Fat Sam (SOHS); Class 4, Lucy Hill on Irish Easy Shadow (Sohs); class 5, Emily Martin on Manzara (SOHS); class 6, Emily Martin on Manzara (SOHS).
