THE Christmas appeal run by the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed raised £3,505.
The appeal was supported by the Henley Standard, which published a weekly feature on the hospice in December, including interviews with familes, patients, volunteers and staff.
Readers could donate online, by post, phone or in person at the hospice and the Henley Standard’s offices.
Tracey Hancock, head of fund-raising at the hospice, said: “We are so grateful to the local community for its support.
“The amount raised will pay for a nurse for 35 days to give care to those facing end of life, either in the hospice or from one of our nurses in the community.
“Thank you, too, to the Henley Standard for working with us on the appeal again.
“Without the support from all those around us we would not be able to continue to deliver our incredible care.”
