Celebrate midsummer night with boutique festival
THE Beacon Festival on the weekend of June 20 to 22 will be full of music, art and fun.

A boutique family event celebrating the longest day of summer takes place high on the Chiltern Hills at Christmas Common, South Oxfordshire — at a location which has the best sunset for miles.

Bringing a new vibe to the legendary Music on the Hill (MOTH) festival, the event will be staged at Watlington Hill Farm. Organiser Lindsay Howard-Dean has reignited the flame — with some persuasion and a bit of arm twisting.

The festival will feature more than 40 bands across three stages, and there will also be international cuisine, real ale, local cider, cocktails, creative shopping, art, workshops, Kidzone, holistic therapy, hot tubs and camping including posh tents for extra luxury.

The gates will open 5pm on Friday, June 20 with a drumming extravaganza by Dunx Drums — bring your cajon! On Saturday morning, among the mayhem, will be an attempt to set a record for musical statues for the Guinness World of Records.
