Golden girls can’t hide their delight

HENLEY Synchronised Swimming Club entered five events at a national competition in Derbyshire and came away with medals in every one.

The under-12s struck gold with their highly polished routine to a score from the Disney film Brave in the Crooked Spire event, which hosted by the Rykneld Swimming Club in Clay Cross.

Almost as impressive was the girls’ joyful reaction (pictured, right) as the winning result was announced.

The team, choreographed by Mikki Bennett, was made up of Angel Green, Georgia Hunter, Amelia Jones, Helen Lutzenhiser, Alexandra Turner and Caroline Wilkinson.

The under-12 duet of Amelia Jones and Alexandra Turner secured another gold with their Bugsy Malone routine.

The 13/14 team of Alina Budden, Hannah Craig, Chelsea Holliday, Elizabeth Livesey, Courtney Moorhouse, Catherine Shearman and Victoria Taylor, were delighted with their silver for a Back To The Future routine, choreographed by Emma Hobson. The under-17 team of Sydney Bautista, Anne Bloemsma-Goettsch, Marion Burnichon, Millie Edwards, Poppy Gray, Harriet Parfitt, Rosalia Scozzafava, Stephanie Ridge and Cara Williams put in a fabulous swim to capture bronze.

The under-17 pair of Gray and Ridge also took a well-deserved bronze for their duet.
