THE Sonning Common and Peppard A side ended their season with a 6-4 win against nearest rivals for third place in Division 1 of the Reading and District League, Kingfisher C.
Joe Barraclough won a key opening set against Nigel Keedy 11-6, 11-7, 6-11, 10-12, 11-7 on his way to a maximum, while Neil Hurford won twice as well as teaming up with Barraclough to win the doubles.
Another Andy Wang treble helped Sonning Common and Peppard B secure an 6-4 win over Tidmarsh A, Jeremy Willis winning twice for Sonning Common and Peppard including an 11-2, 11-9, 11-6 win over Duncan Groves.
Sonning Common and Peppard D ended their Division 2 season in style by winning 9-1 at Tilehurst Methodists A, Alan Mollet, Angus Jones and Mark Jones all with trebles.
The E team have survived the drop from Division 3, despite losing their final match 6-4 at Curzon Club C, Melvyn Lovegrove with a maximum.
In Division 4, Mike Casserley was undefeated for Sonning Common and Peppard F in their 7-3 win over high-flying Reading FC B, with Julian James scoring a double and Derek Maltby recording his first singles win of the season. Anthony Reeve and Jim Warren both won twice as the G team drew 5-5 with Milestone C.
