THE Sonning Common and Peppard A and B sides were well beaten against the leading teams in Division 1 of the Reading and District League.
The A team lost 10-0 at Our Lady of Peace A while the B team lost 9-1 at Kingfisher A, Nigel Maltby completing a notable consolation double against Stuart Williams by beating him 4-11, 11-8, 11-6, 9-11, 13-11.
In Division 2 Brian Meheux recorded a first maximum of the season as the C team won 7-3 against Post Office A, Jon Abbott and Matt Stone also chipping in with victories.
In Division 4 the E team grabbed a 6-4 win against the F team clubmates to boost their chances of avoiding the drop, Tony House, Dave Aust and Mike Casserley all winning twice. House beat Matt Tarrant in the final match of the night to seal the win. Angus Jones won twice for the F side.
The G team have managed two successive draws in Division 5 after holding both high flying Springfield C and Springfield E to 5-5 results. Thomas Perkins starred against the C team with two wins while Joe Barraclough beat Jason Ren in the last set to clinch the draw. Phil Turton recorded a maximum against the E team with Barraclough winning twice.
