OUR Lady of Peace A lost 6-4 at Sonning Common and Peppard A in their re-arranged fixture in the Reading and District League last week. The OLOP team could only field two players and Sonning Common took full advantage with Gary Morgan beating Eduard Caliman 11-8, 11-6, 14-12 and Ian Cole 8-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-8. Morgan teamed up with Jason Roberts to win the vital doubles set 11-6, 2-11, 11-5, 11-3.
Malcolm Gregory scored a maximum as Sonning Common and Peppard E narrowly beat Kingfisher E 6-4 in Division 2, Lisa Williams sealing the win with an 11-8, 11-6, 11-6 victory against Kingfisher’s John Morris.
Kingfisher F were 7-3 winners against Sonning Common and Peppard D as they made it five wins out of five, Nigel Keedy with an impressive three-straight treble that included an 11-5, 11-8, 11-4 win over Sonning Common’s Andy Robertson.
Ivor Hardman scored a hard fought treble as Kingfisher F made it six wins out of six after they won their re-arranged fixture at Sonning Common and Peppard C 6-4. Alan Mollett and Mark Jones recorded maximums in the Sonning Common and Peppard D team winning their first round team handicap match, while the A team were defeated 7-2 by Tidmarsh C, Nigel Maltby and Joe Barraclough both picking up singles.
