Kingfisher end side’s unbeaten record

THE Sonning Common and Peppard C side saw their unbeaten record in Division 2 of the Reading and District League finally ended last week

THE Sonning Common and Peppard C side saw their unbeaten record in Division 2 of the Reading and District League finally ended last week when they lost 7-3 at Kingfisher F. Matt Stone and Danny Dockree both picked up singles while Dockree was unlucky not to beat Allen Pack when losing 12-10, 5-11, 11-5, 11-13, 15-17.

The D team put up a good show against Division 2 leaders Our Lady of Peace C before losing 9-1, Alan Mollett picking up their sole success with an 11-7, 8-11, 13-11, 11-4 win against Zdislaw Jerzmanski.

In Division 1 the A team lost 10-0 against a strong Kingfisher A side. In Division 4 the F team continue to try and find their feet, Nicolas Nowak and Marko Madzar both getting wins in their 6-4 defeat to Kingfisher K. Jamie Legg came close to giving them a first point after losing the final set 9-11, 14-12, 10-12, 8-11 to Adam McTiernan.

Mike Casserely and Dave Aust starred as the G team won a fourth match in a row by winning 6-4 at Tidmarsh F. Casserley held off Mike Bundy to win 5-11, 11-7, 11-13, 11-8, 11-4 in the penultimate set leaving Dave Aust to clinch victory with a 5-11, 11-13, 11-9, 11-8, 12-10 comeback win over Bob Sunerton.
