PEPPARD Tennis Club has officially opened its new clubhouse.
An open day was held at the Colliers Lane club, when South Oxfordshire District Council leader Ann Ducker cut the ribbon.
The £38,000 clubhouse has a kitchen, changing area, toilets, storage space, seating area and a veranda.
It was paid for with a £10,000 grant from the Lawn Tennis Association and donations from members.
More than 70 people attended the open day, when coaching was on offer from Teach Me Tennis and there were demonstrations of equipment provided by Henley Sports and Yonex.
Guests enjoyed a barbecue, run by club chairman Vic Fry, as well as cakes, refreshments and face-painting.
Richard Dilger, a member of the club committee, said: Despite an unfavourable forecast, the event went ahead and the committee was delighted with such a great attendance.
It ran well beyond the expected closing time as the children enjoyed having their faces painted and many of the parents took the opportunity to pick up a racket and have a hit themselves.
