HENLEY Tennis Club has appointed Colin Main as its new head coach.

HENLEY Tennis Club has appointed Colin Main as its new head coach.

Main is a professional coach registered with the LTA (LTA Level 2) and PTR (Associate Instructor) governing bodies.

His recent work has been at Shiplake Tennis Club and Shiplake College, where he is the primary professional coach for their juniors. He also runs an after school tennis club for Shiplake Primary School.

Main, who teaches at all levels, said: “I love tennis and my work goal is to encourage everyone, firstly, to enjoy the sport and, secondly, continue to improve. It’s never too early or too late to start. I believe in having fun on court, and that comes hand in hand with respect and fairness.”

Following the appointment, the Henley club is to launch a week’s junior summer camp commencing August 26, juniors coaching on Sunday afternoons from 1pm to 5pm from August 25, plus an indoor juniors session at the Henley College Sports Hall on Wednesdays, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

With its five courts, plus new fully serviced clubhouse, situated at the Henley College sports ground at Tilebarn Close the club is looking to expand its membership and welcomes players of all ages and abilities.
