Plenty of options for young theatregoers

THERE are two professional children’s theatre productions on at the Kenton Theatre in October half term.

On Sunday, October 27, Emil And The Detectives gets the week off to an exciting start with an adventure story for children aged eight and over. Three energetic actors play more than 30 roles in Knees Up as they turn detective and chase a thief across Berlin. Red Earth Theatre aims to provide enhanced access to “audiences with diverse communication needs”, so Emil and the Detectives is a highly visual and physical production, with brightly lit captions and graphics built into the set. This feature can help deaf and hard-of-hearing adults and children better understand what is happening.

And the next day there are two daytime performances of The Princess And The Frog, presented by Let’s All Dance Entertainment. The show is a 45-minute children’s ballet, starring a friendly and bouncy frog and a princess who loses her golden ball in his pond. The ballet is a story of trust and friendship, and is suitable for all ages.
