If variety be the spice of life, play on

CHILTERN Players have conjured up an evening of variety and light entertainment for the Sonning Common-based theatrical group’s autumn production.

CHILTERN Players have conjured up an evening of variety and light entertainment for the Sonning Common-based theatrical group’s autumn production.

The Spice Of Life, which takes place at Peppard Memorial Hall on November 28, 29 and 30, will include playlets, sketches, poems and musical comedy items.

The show, produced by Astrid Stevens, will also feature Max Miller routines, courtesy of funnyman Terry Sopp and some Laurel and Hardy classics.

And the Players hint there may also be one or two surprises chosen by the troupe which should raise a laugh with audiences.

Mulled wine, a bar and a raffle have also been arranged to make the evening go with even more of a zing.

Players’ committee member Jeni Titchener said: “We thought we would do something completely different this year. They say variety is the spice of life and our show is certainly that.

“We’ve discovered that our actors have hidden talents and we can guarantee people will have a really enjoyable evening.”

Performances take place at 8pm at Peppard Memorial Hall, Gallowstree Road, Rotherfield Peppard. Tickets are £7 and are available by phoning 0118 972 4705 or from Occasions, Wood Lane, Sonning Common. They can also be purchased on the door.
