WHITCHURCH Bridge will now remain shut until September.
The toll bridge closed for refurbishment in October and was due to re-open on April 14 but this was put back to July.
Now the date has been deferred for a second time and a precise re-opening date has not been confirmed.
The Whitchurch Bridge Company, which owns the 112-year-old iron bridge, said high river levels had prevented any work taking place so far this year.
The Environment Agency put up red board warnings in January, meaning the Thames was flowing dangerously fast. When the company announced the first delay that month, it expected these to be lifted within weeks.
