High winds cause road closures

A FALLEN tree partially blocked a road near Nettlebed after coming down in strong winds.

It fell near the BP petrol station on the A4130 at about 10.30am on Tuesday.

Police closed the road by at the junction of High Street and Watlington Street as well as near Nuffield and traffic was diverted to Park Corner.

Tree surgeons were called in to cut up and remove the tree.

Many parts of the country experienced high winds and travel disruption on Tuesday in the storm that was the tail-end of Hurricane Gonzalo, which hit Bermuda last week.
