Roadworks delayed

REPAIRS to Bix Hill have been delayed.

REPAIRS to Bix Hill have been delayed.

The northbound section of the A4130, between the junction with the B480 at Lower Assendon and the section near Bix Manor, was due to be closed from Monday for a fortnight but the repairs will now begin on August 19.

Oxfordshire County Council had arranged to divert through traffic along Reading Road and into Caversham along the A4074 but there are already roadworks in this area.

Bix parish councillor Robert Aitken called the late change “pretty poor” and said the new closure date ended only a week before the Challenge Henley event on Sunday, September 8, when many roads will be closed all day.

“It’s miserable for residents all round,” he said.
