Roadworks delay No 3

RESURFACING work at a Watlington junction has been delayed for the third time.

RESURFACING work at a Watlington junction has been delayed for the third time.

Oxfordshire County Council originally planned to dig up the junction of Ingham Lane and Howe Road in May last year.

It then postponed the work until the autumn due to fears that the foundations of a Grade II listed building in neighbouring Brook Street could be affected.

A new start date was set for February this year but the work had to be cancelled due to heavy snow.

Last month, the council said the work would take place during the last weekend of October and the first weekend of December but now the work is scheduled to take place on November 23 and 24 and the following two weekends.

The council says the delay will enable the drainage team to carry out essential repairs near the listed building and provide additional time to warn affected businesses.
