THREE men were seriously injured after having glasses smashed in their faces during a mass brawl

THREE men were seriously injured after having glasses smashed in their faces during a mass brawl at the Victoria pub in Henley town centre on Saturday evening. The battle involved up to 20 men, some of whom were thought to have been in town for the regatta. It happened between 10pm and 11pm, hours after England were dumped out of the World Cup by Portugal in a game which had been shown on TV in the pub.

A woman needed hospital treatment after being attacked at Henley Royal Regatta on Saturday night. Victoria Clarke, 31, of The Ridgeway, Nettlebed, needed six stitches when another woman smashed a plastic beaker in her face as she was dancing at the Barn Bar in Remenham. She said she had been left with a permanent scar.

Police have banned a nine-year-old from drinking in Henley pubs during the World Cup! Charles Stewart was inadvertently included in a letter from Thames Valley Police that was sent to troublemakers with previous convictions. The Pubwatch “red card” was sent to people who have been arrested, cautioned or issued with a penalty notice in the last year. Charles’s shocked mother, Julie Neal, of Harpsden Road, Henley, said he had never been in trouble with the police.
