HENLEY borough is estimated to have a population of 13,500 by 1981, according to reports to be presented at today’s (Friday’s) meeting of Oxfordshire County Council by the county planning and countryside committee, who state that Henley Borough Council has no observations to offer on the suggested figure.

On Thursday, Miss Q F H Goodall ended her last term as headmistress of the Henley County Infants School in Greys Road where she has held that position for the last 30 years. Miss Goodall was herself educated at Sunnylands School, Henley, and the Maidenhead County Girls School.

On April 18 a line of traffic was proceeding along the main Oxford to Henley road in the direction of Henley just past Huntercombe golf course when one of the cars pulled out to overtake a large furniture van. A car coming in the opposite direction mounted the verge to avoid a head-on collision but was able to carry on.
