THE crash which killed a bride-to-be just days before her wedding has been linked with a six-mile terror-drive by two other cars racing along the “13 bends of death.” The light green Peugeot 307 and silver Volkswagen Passat are believed to have overtaken some 50 cars on the A4074 between Reading town centre and the site of the crash. Carol Tegg, 26, died when her Citroen Saxo, travelling towards Reading, was in collision with a bus near the Oratory School at 5pm on July 31.

A mysterious big black cat has been spotted near Binfield Heath by a woman who stopped to watch a muntjak. Helen Morton-Cameron, of Shiplake Cross, was travelling along Common Lane before dusk and stopped her car after the tiny deer ran across the road. Then, after five minutes, slowly crossing the road about 20ft away was a jet black cat.

Crime in Henley is only slightly down since the introduction of CCTV and people are still afraid, a report has revealed. The draft report on the effectiveness of CCTV schemes in four towns in the district produced by South Oxfordshire District Council, covers the period from December, 2004, when 20 spy cameras were installed around Henley, to March this year.
