TENTATIVE plans drawn up in connection with the Henley Festival to be held next year will, the organisers

TENTATIVE plans drawn up in connection with the Henley Festival to be held next year will, the organisers hope, focus attention on the town’s past, present and potential. The festival is being designed to embrace all the arts, with an exhibition at the Chantry House. It is set for the week beginning Sunday, June 17, the week before Henley Royal Regatta.

In the four months since the end of last season, Henley Rugby Club has built new dressing rooms at its ground at Dry Leas using practically all volunteer labour and at a cost in materials approaching £2,500. The club claims that it can now offer changing facilities second to none in the county.

Ashley Preston, of Walton Avenue, Henley, on Sunday has received his award for the best rider of the year in the RAC/ACU training scheme for motorcyclists and scooterists, sponsored by the Reading Road Safety Committee.
