Two days earlier, Cllr Sichel had seen two rats near rubbish bags in Lambridge Wood Road.

The club has asked to defer the £750 repayment for six months because of the delay in opening its new clubhouse. Councillors postponed a decision until the next meeting.

Henley finance company Perpetual has assured investors that it will cover any losses resulting from its £2 million investment in Baring Brothers Plc, the merchant bank which collapsed over the weekend. Chairman Martyn Arbib said his company may not incur losses but he wanted to assure holders that their money was safe.
