A HENLEY firefighter rushed to the scene of an accident — and found his seriously injured parents trapped in their car. Paul Herrington responded as usual on Friday morning when called to a car crash on the A4155 near Shiplake. When he arrived at the scene he was horrified to find his parents, Tony, 67, and Pat, 60, were trapped in their car. The couple, of St Mary’s Close, Henley, had been on their way home from a Christmas shopping trip when their Rover convertible was in a collision with a Volkswagen.

Cllr Skolar, who is chairman of Oxfordshire County Council’s joint health overview and scrutiny committee, said the Thames Valley Strategic Health Authority was still running at a deficit of £34million, doctors and nurses were being sacked and ambulances were being taken off the streets.
