Town hall defibrillator

A DEFIBRILLATOR is set to be installed on the south side of Watlington town hall.

Watlington Parish Council has submitted an application to South Oxfordshire District Council for building consent as the hall is Grade II* listed. The Watlington Support Fund has offered to pay for the life-saving device.

Parish clerk Kristina Tynan said the device was designed for use by the public in an emergency. She added: “The town hall is close to most retail and office premises in town as well as being on the main route for through traffic. The south side of the building was chosen as the alcove there provides shelter from the weather and it is the only place where it could be located without being visually intrusive.”
