WHETHER it’s a quiet lunch on you own, a meeting with friends or for business, Café Copia is an ideal destination.
This stylish café in Market Place, Henley, offers fresh delicious food, fairtrade coffee and a welcoming atmosphere.
Walking in from the cold I was greeted by its warm and friendly staff who showed me to a comfortable, cosy table, with a lovely view through the huge front windows.
Whether you like to watch the world go by, as I do, or prefer something a little more intimate, there is more seating towards the rear for those who want some peace and quiet.
The menu, for a café, was varied with so many options to choose from.
I opted for a light lunch of crayfish salad, which comprised a mix of rocket leaves, peppers, pine nuts and cucumber with a sweet chilli sauce and was accompanied by a side of dark rye bread.
I was pleasantly surprised by how generous the portion sizes are. The crayfish and salad tasted fresh and the bread was crispy and warm, perfect for melting the butter on. But, for me, the star of the show was the smoothie, which is freshly made to order. The Kale Kick is a blend of yoghurt, kale, spinach and mango. It’s vibrant colour was inviting and its refreshing and sweet taste left me wanting more. You certainly won’t go hungry and you definitely get value for your money.
There is also a takeaway service available where you can pick up anything on the menu, which is perfect for grabbing something on the go during busy times.
Alongside their fairtrade coffee and refreshing smoothies, Café Copia has begun serving specially-chosen wines, blended gin, and also beer brewed by Lovibonds, the micro-brewery in Greys Road car park.
My lovely afternoon lunch was outstanding and I am looking forward to trying more delicious meals and will definitely be popping in to get a smoothie more often.
In the summer months they will provide outdoor seating in Falaise Square for those who enjoy an al-fresco experience. I certainly can’t wait.
