A FOUR-STRONG Gillotts girls’ team won gold at the London and South East Schools Championships at the weekend.

The team triumphed in both overall team and in the dual slalom team knockout at Welwyn’s Gosling Centre in an event competed for by 220 skiers in 54 teams from 20 schools.

Emma Trust, who has her Gillotts place confirmed from September, was allowed to ski up in category by the school and event organisers and performed well alongside Lily, Danielle and Zara Hawkins.

The Gillotts team beat last year’s winners, Surbiton High for the overall award and cruised through the knockout stages of the dual slalom to beat St Albans Girls in an exciting head-to-head final. Danielle Hawkins was also fastest female of the day.

Year nine pupil Alexander Trust will join the Hawkins girls in this weekend’s mixed team event in the Southern Open at Southampton.
