Roads cleaned

TWENTY-EIGHT bags of rubbish were collected during the annual litter-pick in Woodcote.

Thirteen volunteers, led by villager Lesley Crockett, were divided into four teams to tackle the main roads in and out of the village.

They cleared verges along the two approaches to the A4074 as well as Goring Road, Shirvells Hill, Pot Kiln Lane, Long Toll, Greenmore and the footpath beside Langtree School in Reading Road.

They found mostly discarded food and drinks containers but also picked up a long red pole, a golf club and debris from car crashes.
