Restaurant to close

A RESTAURANT in Woodcote is to close after a decade.

Jane and Peter Bailey, who founded the Woody Nook in Goring Road as an outlet for their vineyard of the same name in Western Australia, will serve their last meals at lunchtime on December 23.

The couple, who spend two months every summer in Woodcote, say they wish to simplify their affairs as they approach retirement but will continue producing wine and exporting it to the UK.

They have put the premises on the market and say they hope to find a buyer who will keep it open as a restaurant.

The Baileys said: “We want to thank all our local patrons who have supported us and hope they have enjoyed their dining experiences over the past 10 years.

“We certainly have loved every minute of our ownership and time living in Woodcote, even though that has been limited. Thank you to so many people for your friendship as well as your loyalty.

“We look forward to seeing many of you again over the years as will undoubtedly continue to visit every summer.”
