Home lit up for charity

BEN Pitts switched on the Christmas lights display at his home in Wallingford to raise money for Sue Ryder’s South Oxfordshire palliative care hub.

Ben, 43, has been doing the festive fundraiser since 2019 as his father was cared for by the charity’s nurses in his final days.

The display includes thousands of lights, including Santa Claus and snowmn inflatables.

Mr Pitts, who has raised more than £5,000 over the years, said: “We can’t speak highly enough about Sue Ryder for the care and support they gave my dad and the whole family during that difficult time. This is the least we can do to support them, while also spreading some Christmas cheer.”
