Slough’s Conservative-run council failed to secure approval for its budget for the 2026/27 financial year and its medium term financial plan during a meeting last week, but revised plans were presented to councillors and approved yesterday (Thursday).
Revised budget papers for 2026/27 and the medium-term financial plan through to 2028/29 are due to be presented to councillors once again at a full council meeting tonight (Thursday) after the initial plans were voted against.

She said: “I am concerned with the pace of improvement. Progress remains slow and the council lacks resilience to withstand unforeseen changes.”
