Before their National League South clash last night (Tuesday) the players of AFC Totton and Maidenhead United held a minute’s applause in memory of former player Kath Heath, who has passed away at the age of 34.

Kath played for several of Maidenhead United’s rivals in the FA Women’s National League, including Totton in the Hampshire Counties Women’s Football League.

She loved all forms of the game though and was also a keen Futsal player, most recently playing for the Southampton Aztecs.

Before this she was a key member of the Reading Royals Futsal Club which transitioned into the Maidenhead United FC family a couple of years ago.

Kath therefore was one of the first players to turn out for the newly formed Maidenhead United Women’s Futsal team.

In a statement released yesterday (Tuesday), Maidenhead United said it was ‘saddened’ to learn of Kath’s passing at the age of only 34.

It read: “Maidenhead United has Kath's family, friends and playing colleagues past and present firmly in their thoughts at this sad time.”
