Three teachers at Sacred Heart Primary School in Henley dressed as Oompa-Loompas from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Alex Mayne (pictured with pupils), Duncan Steel and Chris Greig wore brown and white overalls, orange face paint and green wigs to look like the characters from Roald Dahl’s story. Pupils dressed as pirates, Batman, Minnie Mouse, the Gruffalo, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles and Harry Potter, among other charcaters. Throughout last week, teachers read stories to every year group, including extracts from their own favourite books, and parents came in to listen. Teacher Nicola Edwards said: “We had an exciting and busy week. It was lovely to have so many parents in school and all the staff thoroughly enjoyed it.”
