A FAMILY had to be evacuated from their home in Caversham Heights after a sink hole caused by a burst water main made their house unstable.

Firefighters were called to the property in Kidmore Road at about 5.30pm on Sunday after the leaking water caused part of the land beneath it to sink.

Thames Water engineers dealt with the burst main while structural engineers assessed the damage to the property.
