RUNNERS have been given permission to use 40 Acre Field in Henley each week.

Parkrun is a 5km timed run that usually takes place on Saturday mornings and is free and open to all.

It is part of a worldwide movement designed to encourage people of all abilities to exercise.

Athletes register online and have a unique number used to track their times which are uploaded to the Parkrun website.

James Barr, a Parkrun member, asked Henley Town Council for suitable parkland and it suggested 40 Acre Field, off Valley Road, for the main run and Freeman’s Meadow for a junior 2km run on Sundays.
