VISITORS to Hambleden Village Hall this Easter weekend will see paintings designed to make them feel good.
Works by Carolyn Tyrer from Oxfordshire and Howard Birchmore from Reading will be shown as part of a mixed exhibition on Sunday and Monday, from 10.30am to 5pm.
“My work is often described as paintings that make you feel good and my subject matter is broad, covering still life (with a twist), boats, landscapes and townscapes,” said Carolyn. “Each painting is carefully conceived with an initial series of sketches to ensure that the composition and colour in each painting gives it my unique touch.”
Carolyn has exhibited her work at the Affordable Art Fair in London, as well as in Devon, Cornwall, Oxfordshire and East Anglia.
She is bringing a range of new work to Hambleden Village Hall and there will be many originals, cards and prints on sale.
Howard Birchmore’s dramatic seascapes offer a contrast to Carolyn, demonstrating an extraordinary understanding of waves, colours and light.
Carolyn said: “His paintings of Venice are widely collected and are even sold through a prestigious gallery in Venice itself.”
