WITH the long days of summer’s height now past, the thoughts of curators and gallerists are turning to their forthcoming autumn shows.
In Wargrave, Jo Sinclair of the Robin’s Nest Gallery has begun sending out invitations for a private view in September, when the “Wild” exhibition will be launched.
In the meantime, though, art fans who may not yet have done so still have over two weeks to catch the High Street gallery’s summer show.
Running until Sunday, August 30, in the words of owner-manager Jo, “Water” offers an eclectic mix of new artwork and three-dimensional pieces to suit every budget.
“It celebrates the village’s love of and strong connection to the River Thames, which we are very lucky to live next to and enjoy with the Marlow, Henley and Wargrave and Shiplake regattas that take place over the summer months.”
Artists invited to take part in the exhibition alongside the gallery’s resident artists include Claire Henley and Gilly Mound.
New work by the resident artists is only available until the exhibition closes at the end of the month.
A two-week hiatus will follow before the “Wild” exhibition opens on Wednesday, September 16, with the private view taking place two days later. Said Jo: “The exhibition consists of some amazing wild subjects, from textile taxidermy animal heads, needlefelt birds, stitched textile artwork, large flower paintings, and much more.”

ANOTHER exhibition with two weeks to run is
Points of View
at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, where 50 prints are on display in the main link corridor and by the eye clinic until August 29. The works, by members of the Bracknell-based Print at the Park group, are all for sale — with 25 per cent of the proceeds going to the hospital’s Voluntary Services.
