Man bailed in connection with murder of Burnham dad

Police investigating the alleged murder of a father and husband from Burnham have bailed a man arrested in connection with the incident.

A 61-year-old man, from Burnham, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday and has been released on police bail until Friday, September 2.

The arrest was made after the death of Dean Haverley, 48, also from Burnham, following reports of an assault at the George Inn, in the High Street, shortly after midnight on Friday.

Mr Haverley was treated at the scene, but later died in hospital.

A post-mortem was carried out on Sunday, but failed to confirm a cause of death, with the results of further tests still pending.

Contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 with information.
