A HENLEY woman who set up dance academies across the Thames Valley was given a surprise 80th birthday party.

Jeannine Greville thought she was meeting two former pupils at Kidmore End village hall on Sunday but instead she was treated to a special celebration complete with a performance by pupils of JG Dance, formerly Jeannine Greville Dance Academies.

Mrs Greville, of Greys Road, said: “It was such a nice surprise and I am touched by it all.”

The school was established more than 50 years ago and now holds classes in 10 venues.

Principal Ann Morelle, who was one of Mrs Greville’s first pupils, said: “We wanted to do something special to mark the occasion.”
