Mayor who meowed

10:30AM, Monday 13 November 2023

THE Mayor of Henley Town Council dressed up as a cat for a planning committee meeting that fell on
Halloween.

Pink-haired councillor Kellie Hinton added cat’s ears, makeup and whiskers.

As she entered the council chamber at the town hall, she shouted to her colleagues: “Trick or treat?”

During the meeting, Councillor Laurence Plant referred to the Mayor as “Councillor Cat”.

She replied by meowing, prompting laughter from members of the commitee.

Counillor Hinton added: “I was going to pop into Sainsbury’s to grab some biscuits for the meeting but decided that because I was dressed like a cat I didn’t want to scare people”.
