IAN REISSMANN was in a teasing mood at last week’s meeting of Henley Town Council’s recreation and amenities committee.
Members were discussing the progress of the proposed George Orwell visitor centre at the Fair Mile cemetery chapel when committee chairwoman Sam Evans suggested arranging a quarterly meeting with Peter Burness-Smith, the man behind the idea.
Councillor Reissmann agreed, saying: "A quarterly meeting is next month so you should have a date."
Cllr Evans said: "I don’t think you realised what you just said." Cllr Reissmann replied: "You can interpret that in any way you want."
